Scheduled Actions help you plan ahead in your Mighty Network. You can ask Cohost to take an Action at a future date and time, or use an Automation to schedule an Action after a Trigger occurs. You can see what’s coming up, cancel scheduled Actions, and review what happened after they run in Admin > Automations > Scheduled Actions.

Ways to Schedule an Action

  • Ask Cohost: Tell Cohost what you want to happen and when. Cohost schedules a one-time Action, with no Automation Trigger needed.
  • Use an Automation: Add a delay to an Action in an Automation. When the Trigger occurs, the Action is scheduled to run after that delay.

How to Schedule an Action with Cohost

You can ask Cohost to schedule an Action in 2 ways.

Option 1: Chat with Cohost

  1. Open a Chat with Cohost.
  2. Tell Cohost what you want to happen and when.
  3. Review the approval card Cohost presents.
  4. Approve the Action to schedule it.

Option 2: Use the Ask Cohost Box

  1. Go to Admin > Automations > Scheduled Actions.
  2. In the Ask Cohost box, type what you want to happen and when.
  3. Select Ask Cohost.
  4. Review the approval card Cohost presents, then approve the Action to schedule it.
The Ask Cohost box at the top of the Scheduled Actions page For example, you could ask:
  • “Send a reminder to my members about tomorrow’s Event at 9am.”
  • “Publish the next Lesson of my course on Monday.”
  • “Create an Event for our next community gathering on December 5.”
  • “Send a check-in message to my new members next Friday.”
Cohost can schedule several Actions from a single request. You review them together on 1 approval card, and each approved Action appears separately in your Scheduled Actions list. When you ask Cohost to schedule a Post, Poll, Article, or Question, you can edit or reschedule them in Scheduled posts.

How to Schedule an Action with an Automation

Automations let you schedule an Action in response to a Trigger. For example, you might want to send a follow-up message several days after a member joins your Network.
  1. Go to Admin > Automations.
  2. Create a new Automation or open an existing one.
  3. Choose the Trigger that starts the Automation.
  4. Add the Action you want to happen.
  5. Open the Action’s Delay setting and choose minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months.
  6. Save your Automation.
The Delay setting, set to 5 minutes You can set a delay of up to 1 year. When the Trigger fires, the Action is added to your Scheduled Actions list. The Scheduled by column names the Automation and links back to it. For more on setting up Triggers and Actions, see How Can I Set Up Automations in My Mighty Network?

How to See Your Scheduled Actions

Go to Admin > Automations > Scheduled Actions. The Scheduled Actions page, with 2 upcoming Actions scheduled by Cohost on the Upcoming tab You’ll see 2 tabs:
  • Upcoming: Actions that haven’t finished running.
  • History: Actions that have finished or were canceled.
The list includes the following information: You can filter the list by Scheduled by and Status, sort by When, and search for Actions involving a member.

What Do the Statuses Mean?

If an Action fails, check the Outcome column for more information.

How to Cancel a Scheduled Action

If you no longer want an upcoming Action to run:
  1. Go to Admin > Automations > Scheduled Actions.
  2. Open the Upcoming tab.
  3. Find the Action you want to cancel.
  4. Open the menu on that Action’s row.
  5. Select Cancel Action.
  6. Select Cancel Action again to confirm.
You can’t undo a cancelation. The canceled Action moves to the History tab. If an Automation scheduled the Action, canceling that one Action doesn’t stop the Automation. The Automation keeps scheduling Actions each time its Trigger fires. To change that, pause or edit the Automation. Cohost can help you find or cancel Actions, too. For example:
  • “What do I have scheduled?”
  • “Cancel the Lesson 2 Action.”

How to Check Whether an Action Ran

To review an Action after its scheduled time:
  1. Go to Admin > Automations > Scheduled Actions.
  2. Open the History tab.
  3. Find the Action.
  4. Check its Status and Outcome.
  5. Open the Action’s row menu and select View Logs for more detail.
This helps you confirm that an Action succeeded, or understand why it failed or was skipped. A History row's menu open, showing View Logs
