What Is Member View?

Member view lets you preview your Mighty Network from the perspective of a specific member. As a Network Host (on web only), you can temporarily view your Network as any active full member or limited member — without creating a test account. Member view only allows for Network Hosts viewing as full or limited members. Hosts will not be able to view as:
  • Network moderators
  • Members with an inactive account (ie: banned, half account, invited but not fully joined etc…)
This is a read-only experience. You can explore what that member can view across plans, Spaces, and Collections, but you can’t post, message, make purchases, or change settings on their behalf.

Why Use Member View?

Member view can help you:
  • Confirm what a specific member can access based on their plan(s)
  • Troubleshoot questions about visibility or gated content
  • Check how promotional banners or targeted content appear
  • Validate your setup across plans, Spaces, and Collections
  • Resolve support questions faster
It’s designed to give you clarity and confidence in your access model — while protecting member privacy.

How to Find Member View

To preview your Network as a member:
  1. Go to Admin > Members 
  2. Select the member you want to view as.
  3. Click the three dot menu > “View as [Member Name ie: Bob]”.

You can also find this three dot menu on: When you view as the member, you will see a bar at the top of your screen.

Selecting the dropdown will allow you to switch between available members:

When you’re finished, click “Exit” in the upper right corner to return to your account. Important note: If you are logged into a different account on the same browser (but a different tab), it will disrupt the member view experience. We recommend opening up a new browser window before viewing as a member.

What You Can and Can’t Do in Member View

You can:

  • Navigate your Network as that member
  • View Spaces, Collections, and content available to them
  • Confirm plan-based access and visibility
  • Confirm notification settings

You can’t:

  • Send messages or access direct messages
  • Post, comment, react, or edit content
  • Make purchases
  • Change account settings
  • View sensitive information such as payment details
  • View as Network moderators
  • View as members who haven’t accepted our terms of use (see screenshot)

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to exit out of “view as” mode, there are two ways to get unstuck.
  • Internal Tool
  • Clearing the cookies from the specific site

Internal Tool

Steps
  • Right click > Inspect > Console
  • Type in (you won’t be able to paste)
window.MightyImpersonation.stop()
  • This will exit you out of view as mode.

Clearing Cookies

In your browser:
  • Navigate to Settings > Privacy and security > Site Settings > View permissions and data stored across sites.
  • Search for the site, then click the Trash icon next to it to delete the data.
