The Infinite Question Engine generates an ongoing list of questions and polls tailored to your Space or your Network’s Big Purpose. It gives you an easy way to spark conversations, keep engagement consistent, and help members share their stories, experiences, and ideas. This feature is available on Business Plans and above.

Why It’s Valuable

Great questions drive engagement. They help people connect, learn something new, and return to your Space. When we analyzed engagement patterns across Mighty Networks, we saw that the most effective questions are:
  • Concrete and specific
  • Answerable in under a minute
  • Able to spark deeper conversation in the comments
The Infinite Question Engine creates an endless, relevant supply of these high-performing questions. You can choose to have the feature auto-post questions daily or weekly, or manually schedule them whenever you prefer.

How to Turn On the Infinite Question Engine

  1. Navigate to the Space where you want to enable the feature.
  2. Select the gear icon.
  3. Go to Space Features > Feed.
  4. Scroll to Infinite Question Engine and toggle it On.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and select Save.
  6. After saving, select See Questions to view your automatically generated list.
The list can include Multiple Choice polls, Hot Cold polls, Percentage polls, and standard questions.

Enabling Auto-Post

If you toggle Auto-Post on, the Infinite Question Engine can automatically publish questions in the order they appear in your list. You can choose:
  • Weekly (Mondays at 7am PT)
  • Daily (7am PT)
After enabling Auto-Post, you’ll also see an option to enable Notify All, which notifies all members in the Space when a new question is posted. You’ll then see the next post in the queue, along with the questions that follow. Important:
  • The Space Host who turns on Auto-Post is shown as the post creator.
  • If another Space Host toggles Auto-Post off and then on again, the future posts will appear as coming from their account.
If you prefer full control, keep Auto-Post off and manually post or schedule questions.

Editing Questions

From the three-dot menu next to each question, you can:
  • Edit the text
  • Add elements such as hashtags
  • Regenerate all questions using the refresh button
If you regenerate the full list, you’ll be asked to confirm before replacing all questions.

Posting Questions

The three-dot menu also gives you the option to:
  • Post Now
  • Schedule the question for a future date and time
Both posting methods allow you to choose whether to Notify All members.

How Attribution Works

When the Infinite Question Engine is first activated, it creates pending questions attributed to the Host who turned it on, but they are not posted automatically. You have three ways to publish questions, each with its own attribution:
  1. Activate Auto-Post
    • All questions generated after Auto-Post is enabled will be attributed to the Host who turned Auto-Post on.
  2. Schedule a Post
    • Scheduled posts are attributed to the person who scheduled them.
    • Scheduled posts move into Scheduled Posts, where you can update, reschedule, or delete them before they publish.
  3. Post Immediately
    • Questions posted via Post Now are attributed to whoever posts them.
This structure ensures clarity and avoids confusion about who authored each post.

Privacy of Responses

Multiple Choice Polls

  • Responses default to public.
  • You can change this before posting.
  • After posting, you can adjust privacy until the first response is submitted (web only).

Percentage and Hot & Cold Polls

  • Responses are always private.
  • Their privacy settings cannot be changed at any point.
