There are two types of administrators in your Mighty Network: Network Hosts and Network moderators. When you upgrade to the Community Plan or higher, you can add unlimited Hosts and moderators—unlike other platforms that charge per admin.
  • A Network Host has full access to all Admin Settings, including payments, branding, and the ability to create and manage all Spaces and Collections.
  • A Network moderator has more limited permissions and focuses on moderating members, content, and features.
To manage the features inside a Space, you’ll also need to be a Space Host or Space moderator. You can learn more about those roles in this article. You can also customize the names of roles inside your Network and within individual Spaces. Here are the permissions for each Network administrator role:

Changing Network Roles

You can promote any member to a Network Host or Network moderator from the Global Members list. This change does not affect their Space roles—they will keep whatever Space Host or Space moderator roles they previously had.

How to Change a Member’s Network Role

From the Member List:
  1. Go to Admin > Members > Member List.
  2. Select the three-dot menu next to the member’s name.
  3. Choose the new role.
On a Profile:
  1. Go to profile
  2. Select the three-dot menu in the upper right corner
  3. Choose the new role
When promoting someone to Network Host, you’ll see a confirmation modal.

Demoting or Promoting a Network Host Within Spaces

Network Hosts can join or leave any Space, regardless of privacy settings or plan access. When a Network Host joins a Space, they automatically become a Space Host. A Network Host can change their own Space role at any time:
  1. Open the three-dot menu for the Space.
  2. Select Change Your Space Role.
  3. Choose the new role.
This is a great way for a Host to preview a Space as a member. You can switch back and forth as needed. If a Network Host is invited to a Space as any role other than Space Host, they will still join as a Space Host.

Plan Gated Spaces

Network Hosts can join a Space gated by a plan by selecting Join as Host. Because they are not part of any Plan when they join:
  • They cannot demote themselves to Space moderator or Space member.
  • To enable role changes, they must be added to either a Free Plan or a Plan without a Payment Gate that includes that Space.

Plan Gated Networks

If a Network Host joins a Network gated by a plan, they are not considered part of any Plan and cannot have their Network role changed. To change their Network role:
  • They must leave the Network, then
  • Rejoin through a Free Plan or a Plan without a Payment Gate that includes Network access.
