  3. This makes your network publicly visible to search engines

Plan-Specific Indexing

Networks with Access Plans

If your network requires a plan to access content:
  • Only the landing page will be indexed by default
  • Member content behind the paywall won’t appear in search results
  • You have the option to turn off landing page indexing if desired

Open Networks

If your network is set to “Anyone” can view:
  • Public spaces and content can be indexed
  • Member profiles (if set to public) can be indexed
  • Posts and discussions can appear in search results

Important Note About Image Previews

Warning: If Search Indexing is turned off, image previews when sharing links externally may not work as expected. When sharing your network on social media or other platforms, proper indexing helps ensure:
  • Correct preview images appear
  • Titles and descriptions display properly
  • Links look professional and complete

SEO Best Practices

For Better Search Visibility

  1. Keep search indexing on for public networks
  2. Set privacy to “Anyone” for public content
  3. Use clear, descriptive titles for your network and spaces
  4. Encourage quality content that people want to find
  5. Include relevant keywords naturally in your network description

For Private Networks

  1. Turn search indexing off if you want complete privacy
  2. Use plan-gated access to keep content members-only
  3. Consider indexing only the landing page for marketing purposes

Controlling What’s Indexed

You have granular control over search indexing:
  • Full indexing: Landing page + public content
  • Landing page only: For plan-gated networks
  • No indexing: Complete privacy from search engines

Impact on Growth

Search Indexing ON:

  • Members can find you through Google and other search engines
  • Content can rank for relevant keywords
  • Free organic traffic to your network
  • Better social media link previews

Search Indexing OFF:

  • Complete privacy from search engines
  • Members must have direct link to find you
  • Better for private, exclusive communities
  • May impact link preview functionality
Choose your search indexing settings based on whether you want to grow through organic search or maintain a more private, invitation-only community.
