# pauseAutomationRule

> Pause an automation rule, stopping it from running. Its configuration is left
untouched and is not re-validated, so a rule whose configuration went stale
can still be paused. Resume it with `updateAutomationRule`, which re-validates
before the rule runs again.

**Required scope:** `host:write:network_integrations`
