# deleteAccount

> Permanently delete the signed-in member's account in this Network. We delete
their profile, posts, comments, and chats in the background, and we can't
restore the account. We cancel their subscriptions in the Network, except
those bought through Apple, which the member cancels in their Apple account.
Every access token the member holds, including the one making this call, stops
working as soon as we accept the deletion. The only Host of the Network can't
delete their account; the reason is returned in `errors`. We check again when
the background deletion runs: if the Network's Hosts changed in between and
the account can no longer be deleted, we keep the account, and its access
tokens stay revoked.

**Required scope:** `write:account`
