# How Do I Create a Text Chat Event?

Once your Mighty Network is on the [**Launch Plan**](https://docs.mightynetworks.com/for-hosts/meet-mighty/whats-included-in-the-mighty-networks-courses-plan) and up, you can create Events that bring members together in real time. Alongside options like Zoom meetings or webinars, you can also host a **Text Chat Event** directly inside your Mighty Network.

A Text Chat Event is a real-time chat session—no video or audio required. It’s a fun way for members to connect, ask questions, and share ideas. During the Event, members can send messages, images, rich links, video links, and emojis. When the Event begins, it automatically opens the chat feature within the Space on web, iOS, and Android.

## Creating a Text Chat Event

Before creating your Event, make sure the **Events** feature is [enabled in your Space](https://docs.mightynetworks.com/for-hosts/setting-up-your-network/how-do-i-add-features-to-a-space).

To create a Text Chat Event:

* Select the **Create** button and choose **Event**.
* Add your Event details (title, date, time, repeating options, and more).
* Under **Event Type**, select **Online**.
* Choose **Text Chat** from the dropdown menu.
* Publish your Event.

After your Event is created, the Event post will include a link that takes members directly to the Space’s chat. Members can click or tap that link to join as soon as the Event begins.

**Members who RSVP “Yes” or “Maybe”** will receive an Event reminder notification 10 minutes before the start time.

## Turn On the Chat Feature

A Text Chat Event uses the Space’s Chat feature. Before the Event starts, make sure Chat is enabled in that Space.

To turn on Chat:

1. Go to the **Space gear icon**.
2. Select **Space Features > Chat**.
3. Enable Chat for the Space.

Once enabled, your Text Chat Event will open the Space’s chat automatically when it begins.
