# How Do I Message Members in a Space?

As a [**Space Host**](https://docs.mightynetworks.com/for-hosts/admin-and-moderation/what-permissions-do-space-hosts-and-space-moderators-have) [or Space moderator,](https://docs.mightynetworks.com/for-hosts/admin-and-moderation/what-permissions-do-space-hosts-and-space-moderators-have) you can send a message to all members of a Space or target specific members. This is a quick way to share updates, announce Events, or highlight new activity.

## Message All Members in a Space

1. Go to the **Space gear icon**.
2. Select **Members > Member List**.
3. Open the **three-dot menu** in the upper-right corner.
4. Select **Message All Members**.

Add an optional **title** to your message, then write your announcement in the editor. You can highlight text to apply formatting or add links.

Once sent, members receive your announcement by email or push notification based on their [**personal notification settings**](https://docs.mightynetworks.com/for-members/account-and-purchases/what-notifications-will-i-get-as-a-member).

## Important Notes

* All members of the Space—[**full**](https://docs.mightynetworks.com/for-hosts/payments-and-access/what-is-a-full-vs-limited-membership) [and limited](https://docs.mightynetworks.com/for-hosts/payments-and-access/what-is-a-full-vs-limited-membership)—receive the message.
* Members with notifications turned off will not receive email or push notifications.
* Members who haven’t logged in within **6 months** will not receive notifications.

## Message Specific Members in a Space

1. Go to the **Space gear icon > Members > Member List**.
2. Select members using the checkboxes next to their names, or click **Select All**.
3. Open the **Bulk Actions** menu (top right).
4. Select **Message Members**.

Write your message and click **Send**. Members will be notified via email or push notification based on their [**notification preferences**](https://docs.mightynetworks.com/for-members/account-and-purchases/what-notifications-will-i-get-as-a-member).

## What Members See

* Members receive an in-app notification: **“Your Host \[Name] sent you a message.”**
* Clicking the notification shows your message.
* Clicking **Reply** opens a private chat with you.
  * *Reply is currently available on web only.*

## Additional Targeting Options
